Iturraran is Pagoeta Information Cente r. Available inside a model, an audiovisual and exhibition on the Park also offered books, brochures and maps. Iturraran Botanical Garden is located in the municipality of Aia with an area of 25 hectares, of which 15 native forest within the Nature Park and next to Pagoeta Interpretation Centre itself, on one side of the road GI -2631.

The first plantings of the garden date back to the winter of 1986, every year we add new plants within the same and its surroundings are integrated clumps of native vegetation, oak, chestnut, oak, etc. At this point, has a collection of some 3500 taxa, most trees and shrubs, and the collection of endangered plants in the Basque Country .

Due to the exceptional climate enjoyed Iturraran Botanical Garden in the same plants can be grown throughout the world, cold and warm areas, the aim being to form a collection as broad as possible to raise awareness of both the public in general and gardeners, farmers and students, the extraordinary variety of the plant world. On the other hand, given the perfect fit for many species, it is possible to reproduce the same, obtaining materials from the same collection.

The Botanical Garden has different areas each day that are home to more collections of trees and plants.

Plant Fair Collection


One of the main objectives Pagoeta Natural Par k is the preservation and promotion of traditional livelihoods in the area. The survival of the village, the key to our culture and economy is possible only through the promotion of the site, to create activities that appeal to the public throughout the year.

In 2003, The Nature of Pagoeta launched the first of the Fair Plant Collection. It aims to show the public a wide range of plants of all kinds, rare in our gardens, balconies and gardens, and a quality that can only give a traditional culture that respects the environment.

The public interest in this event has grown in successive editions, which has noted the increase in visitors from the rest of the peninsula and even abroad.
