Aranburu Elkartea of Idiazabal achieved txapela of the IX championship in Shepherd Cheese of Hondarribia

Aranburu Elkartea of Idiazabal , with a natural healing cheese, was the winner of Contest IX Hondarribia Shepherd Cheese, which was held  in Hondarribia , organized by the Hospitality Association of the City, with the collaboration and sponsorship of the City and the Council of the Designation of Origin Idiazabal. Thus, the beret was awarded a trophy and the € 350 prize in a contest that has been largely dominated by the cheese Gipuzkoa.

"It'sa great joy the prize. Here in Hondarribia we resisted the beret. We had reached a second and a third prize, and high scores in other years also, but in the end has come beret, in a year that is still very good for us. "Said Javier Aranburu after receiving the beret.

The winner won a total of 341 points, surpassing by a large margin to second place in the dairy Aizpea Olaberria, Eli and Mike Etxezarreta Arrillaga, with a smoked cheese, which reached 300 points. The runners won as a prize a trophy and 200 €. In third position was Patxi Otaegi of Beizama, also with a cheese and natural healing with 296 points. He was awarded a trophy and 100 €.

As is customary in the past editions, the trophy awarded by the organization to the top three is a replica of the Ama Guadalupekoa, trawler local rowing club.
